At 26 metres, the Extra 86 sits in that useful bracket where a yacht still feels intimate but carries genuine sea-keeping presence. The fold-out terraces are the signature move on board: close them for a clean profile crossing open water, then open them at anchor and the aft deck nearly doubles, turning into a wide sundeck for lounging or an al fresco dining table set for the full group. The swim platform sits low and stable, useful for guests moving in and out of the water without ceremony.

With a cruising speed around 22 knots, the Extra 86 can comfortably work a two-cove day out of Menorca — an early run to a quieter northern inlet before the day boats arrive, lunch laid out on the terrace once the anchor is down, then a slower return with time to spare. The same range and cabin layout also suit a two or three-night route along the coast, with provisioning arranged ahead so the galley is stocked for each stop rather than relying on what's available dockside.

Four cabins sleeping up to 12 guests make this a natural fit for two families cruising together, a small multi-generational group, or a private charter where everyone wants their own space at the end of the day rather than a shared saloon.
