Cookie Policy
Last updated:
This page explains what cookies and similar storage technologies are, and exactly what menorcayachtrental.com does and does not use. It is written for anyone visiting the site to browse our yachts, send an enquiry, or get in touch with Menorca Yacht Rental by phone, email or WhatsApp.
Storage used on this site
- Cookie notice flag (local storage)
- Remembers that you closed the cookie notice, so it does not reappear on later pages. Local storage. Kept until you clear your browser storage.
- Selected yacht (session storage)
- Holds the yacht you clicked on so the enquiry form can be prefilled with it. Session storage. Deleted when the tab is closed or the form is sent.
- Visit identifiers (local storage)
- Two random, non-identifying codes used by our own first-party visit counting to recognise a returning visit. Local storage. Expires 30 days after your last visit; can be cleared at any time in your browser.
- Google Fonts (third-party request)
- Loads the typefaces used on the site from Google's servers. Not a cookie; it is a direct request that gives Google your IP address for that request only.
- intl-tel-input via jsDelivr (third-party request)
- Loads the phone-number input library used in the enquiry form's phone field from the jsDelivr content delivery network. Not a cookie; jsDelivr receives your IP address for that request only.
What cookies and similar tools do
Cookies, local storage, session storage and similar tools let a website or the services it calls on remember something about a visit, or exchange information with another server when a page loads. Under Spanish Law 34/2002 on information society services (LSSI-CE), Article 22.2, a site must tell visitors which of these it uses and, for anything that is not strictly necessary, ask for consent before it is set.
menorcayachtrental.com is a straightforward presentation of our fleet of 99 yachts, from day-boats to superyachts, with an enquiry form for charter requests. We set no cookies of our own, and we have not installed any third-party analytics, advertising or social-media tracking pixel anywhere on the site.
How we count visits
To understand which pages and routes to market are useful, we run a small first-party script served from our own domain, not from an advertising or analytics network. It records which pages were viewed, time spent on a page, the referring website, any campaign parameters carried in the link such as UTM tags or an ad click id, device type, browser, operating system, screen size, browser language, and the country worked out from the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
If you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to the same visit so we can see which channel brought the enquiry, for example an email campaign about a catamaran charter or an organic search for day rates from €1,700. This linking relies on the two random identifiers described in the storage table above, which expire automatically 30 days after your last visit.
What stays in your browser
Beyond the visit-counting identifiers, two small pieces of browser storage support the ordinary working of the site: one remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice, and one temporarily remembers which yacht you clicked on so the enquiry form opens with it already filled in. The second is cleared automatically once you close the tab or submit the form.
None of these entries contains your name, email, phone number or any other contact detail. They sit only in your own browser and are never read by anyone else.
Fonts, the phone field, and WhatsApp
Two outside services are called when a page loads: Google Fonts, for the typefaces used across the site, and jsDelivr, which serves the library that formats the phone-number field in the enquiry form. Both requests reach the provider's own servers and, as with any request on the internet, hand over your IP address; neither sets a cookie for us, and we receive nothing extra from them.
The WhatsApp buttons on the site work differently: nothing is set on menorcayachtrental.com itself. A tap simply opens WhatsApp with a prefilled message, and the conversation that follows runs on WhatsApp under Meta's own privacy policy, outside our site.
Managing storage and future changes
Every current browser lets you view, block or delete local storage, session storage and cookies through its settings or privacy menu, usually under a heading such as "site data" or "privacy and security". Clearing this storage simply means the cookie notice may reappear, the yacht-prefill will not carry over between tabs, and our visit count will treat your next visit as a new one.
If we ever introduce an optional cookie, for instance for a future marketing tool, we will update this page first and ask for your consent before it is set, as required under the LSSI-CE. Questions about this page, or any request concerning your data, can be sent to [email protected]; we reply within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity first. The supervisory authority for these matters in Spain is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD), www.aepd.es.
